Check out the new Funhouse
Journal for news, reviews, thoughts, etc.
Try our sibling site Adventures In Sound !!
You may be wondering whether this has become a cobweb site. The answer is no, not really. However the updates have been pretty sparse because most of my energy is going towards the Adventures In Sound site. One main reason is the difficulty in getting film writers while there are always lots of music writers. Still, I have been updating the Video Releases section about once every couple of months. There will be more FAFR so don't delete those bookmarks just yet.
Some more material added.
Coming up are reviews of The Eel, Tokyo-Ga and Gemini; let me know if you
have anything to add. As always the video releases section is updated
every couple of weeks. I need info for this from video labels as
well as info about releases outside the US. An amazing website is
House
of Kim Ki-Young, which focuses on the Korean director's delirious films
(anybody have tapes?). Also well worth checking out is The
DVD Savant even if you don't have a DVD player. The Savant is
not only a strong writer and insightful critic (the piece "Foreign Intervention
and the American Western" is particularly noteworthy) but is a fount of
interesting information about shooting locations, alternate versions, video
oddities, widescreen and more. Of course I'm always looking for any
kind of spiffy material. Have you got anything to contribute?
I need new interviews, reports, research, diaries or whatever. You
can be notified every now and then of FAFR changes and news by
sending
e-mail or using the little box at the bottom of the page.
